Newbies Galelopez Posted November 18, 2005 Newbies Posted November 18, 2005 Please, help me! I'm just starting working with FM. I would like to make an inventory of scientific articles. I need to give a unique number sequentially for every article of every subtopic of a certain topic. Examples: Topic 1/Subtopic 1/ Article number (1, 2, etc.) Topic 3/Subtopic 2/ Article number (1, 2, etc.) If you can help me, I would be very grateful. Many thanks, Gabriel
Søren Dyhr Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Not much to go on, is an relational structure established or is the thought to design a recursive filestructure (which includes the same) What you can do is use internal autoenter and then use the foreign key in the relation as part of the "Given Name" You need to let us know which fields are where and what??? --sd
Peter Bloeme Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 This is not directly "related" to the previous question, but has to to with an inventory question. I have developed a basic solution for customers, with related invoicing, products and line items. They all are connected through Customer ID, Invoice ID and/or Product ID and work great. My question is what is the recommended way to handle inventory where it will keep a "product on hand" field accurate? I would like it to be able to deduct or add inventory depending on whether a customer orders or returns products. Does it have to do with a calculation, look up or related file? TIA
