formula for counting text lines in a field?

Does anyone know of a function that will count the lines of text in a field? I'm talking about lines of text that wrap without any hard returns(¶).

Without a CR, FM considers this 1 line of text. After all, the font size and the font type dictate how many characters will display in a field of a given width.
