When upgrading my FMP5 solution to FMP7, one of the first benefits I noticed was the improved record locking (down to field level). This was especially important to me as a lot of data input is via Portals & previously if the main parent record was in use, the whole portal was locked.

Today, a problem has re-surfaced where I have started getting "record in use" messages when 2 users are trying to access different fields in the same parent record. This also knocks on and seems to lock the portal also.

Is this normal - or have I changed something thats caused this problem.

No, you still cannot have two users editing the same record at the same time.

Am I completely wrong about locking being on a 'per field' basis (not per record), beacuse I'm fairly sure I've had it working this way using version 7.
