Newbies asa1963 Posted November 28, 2005 Newbies Posted November 28, 2005 Hi, I want my dates to display in following order: day-month-year (28/11/2005) 28th november 2005. Now they are displaying automatically month-day-year (11/28/2005. How shall I do to change that? and how to define a field where the date is changing automatically every time I have done something with my records, changed address etc.
Lee Smith Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Entering dates will either be the systems or the version (USA, European, etc.) controlled. However, you can changed how they show by selecting the Field in the layout and changing the format of it. Lee
Newbies asa1963 Posted November 28, 2005 Author Newbies Posted November 28, 2005 Thank you for your reply. I have tried to do that in layout but it is not working the way I want, there are not so much alternatives. If I remember right i could do that in some old Mac version which I used in Sweden for ten years ago. Do you know the answer for my second question about the to change date automatically after changes? ) I was able to do that also for ten years ago...
Lee Smith Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 That's Odd, I just tried it and it is the same as earlier versions. Click on the Date field in Define Fields, and then the Options. You want the Auto Enter Modification Date Lee
Raybaudi Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Hi for the first question: go to the control pannel of windows, double click "international options" and select your country. That will give you immediate access to the wished date format ! For the second question, as Lee said, you can make your date field a timestamp field, with autoenter/replace calculation based on what you want to control ! :)
