Veronica Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 We are using FM8 and network sharing at our office. We have five offsite users and three inhouse users. We all know there is a limit of five users at any one time. However, our users have intermittant problems logging on for which we can't find a cause. The network people have checked the network and routers, etc. We have just heard something about a 24 hour limit or restriction or something where if any five users had been logged on the database at one time, we would have to wait 24 hrs from the time that any one or more of those users had logged off before any new users could log on. Does this make sense and is it true? Veronica
Wim Decorte Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Not sure if it is true. I believe it is 5 concurrent users for peer-to-peer. In your case: 4 users since the host counts for one of those 5. There could be network conditions (internal or external) that disrupt a user's connection, kicking him off but that does not mean that the host knows the user is gone. The host may wait a long time before deciding the user is really gone. You would really benefit from FileMaker Server...
