Newbie ? Container Fields

Featured Replies

  • Newbies

I want to put word documents and pdf files into a container field and be able to view them from inside the database. I use the insert file to get them into the container field, I am not sure how to view them in the DB or have word or acrobat open them automatically to view them. Than you very much.

if you insert as a reference only then you can double-click the field and the OS will open the document.

If you insert the file as binary in the container then you need to use the "export field contents" followed by a "send event" to open it.

On Mac only: you can insert PDF and look at them right there in the container. Has to do with Quicktime and it doesn't work on Windows.
