forcefully disconnected and damaged database

I got a Error code 618 "Database "core_data" is damaged and has been closed." in my server application event log. At that moment, the primary user (there are 7 total - 6 were not on at the time) got a message "FileMaker has been Forcefully Disconnected by the host" and lost connection. After restarting the services - the database was still "closed" and would not open int eh Admin Server. I restarted the server and the database is still closed. When I r-click it, and choose "open" I shows "checking..." and then returns to closed.

Help, please.

You'll need to try to open the file with a copy of FMP or FMPA and recover it. Once recovered, export the data and import the data into a known good backup of your file. Trash the recovered file.

Also carefully review your server setup to try and find out how the file got damaged:

- is OS file sharing active on the FMS files (it shouldn't)

- any other process running that can touch the FMS files while they are being hosted? (backup, indexing, shadow copy, ...)
