Hello I am Emily, and yes I am at work right now  I am not only a newbie to this wonderful informative Forum but also FileMaker and my job.

I am an AmeriCorps*VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America). I am supposed to be helping with our IDA program (Individual Development Account), but first it was decided that we needed a Database and I was nominated to create and implement it. :hair: Now don’t throw anything at me, but I am used to Access and I have only used PCs…and no I am not getting a Mac *hugs my Dell XPS*

So I have FM8 and a book, FileMaker Pro 8 – The Missing Manual and I have started creating the DB. I thought it would be good to come and say hello before I start asking silly questions. And yes, I promise to look for the answer before I ask it :

Hi Emily.

Welcome to the forums.

Take a look at the Whitepaper by David Kachel.

Its a pretty good read and start for beginners.

Thank you so much for brightening my world...the Whitepaper by David Kachel is great. So far my Datbase is coming along just fine. It was a little scary at first :eeek: But I am much better now. :cloud:

Once you do FileMaker you never go back. I'm a PC User also. Access is not the answer, FMP is. The #1 reason? This place. A great bunch of folks willing to share.
