Newbies Emily at work Posted December 13, 2005 Newbies Posted December 13, 2005 Hello I am Emily, and yes I am at work right now I am not only a newbie to this wonderful informative Forum but also FileMaker and my job. I am an AmeriCorps*VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America). I am supposed to be helping with our IDA program (Individual Development Account), but first it was decided that we needed a Database and I was nominated to create and implement it. Now don’t throw anything at me, but I am used to Access and I have only used PCs…and no I am not getting a Mac *hugs my Dell XPS* So I have FM8 and a book, FileMaker Pro 8 – The Missing Manual and I have started creating the DB. I thought it would be good to come and say hello before I start asking silly questions. And yes, I promise to look for the answer before I ask it :

flapjacks Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Once you do FileMaker you never go back. I'm a PC User also. Access is not the answer, FMP is. The #1 reason? This place. A great bunch of folks willing to share. John
