Genx Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 Layouts, scripts etc. all accept the "-" to be a seperator... what are you meant to use in lists which doesnt let you use a "-" twice and which can get extremly cluttered if not seperated well...?
comment Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 If you are talking about CUSTOM value lists, you CAN use the "-" separators as many times as you need. If you are talking about FIELD values, such separator is useless anyway, since the list needs to be sorted. Filemaker doesn't have a clue about where the separator is supposed to go.
Genx Posted December 15, 2005 Author Posted December 15, 2005 (edited) hold on, no no... i mean in the define value lists section.. Edited December 15, 2005 by Guest
comment Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 So do I. You have two options there (actually three, but one involves using an ALREADY DEFINED value list from amother file): use values from FIELD, or use CUSTOM values.
Genx Posted December 15, 2005 Author Posted December 15, 2005 ... ok this really isnt getting through to me for some reason, just making sure you get me lol.. im referring to the actual names of the value lists not internal seperators... because otherwise the lists become cluttered and difficult to choose when adding the physical lists to fields ... when in layout mode...? Sorry, Genx
comment Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Oh, I see (I think...). How about something like this?
Genx Posted December 16, 2005 Author Posted December 16, 2005 lol yeah thats what i was gettin at and if thats the only thing that will work i spose it'll have to do Cheers lots for the help, genx
