Iam using FM Server 8. I have no experience with servers at all. My question si - why in Run Script File window Specify Script File is not availabie?

Thanx

If I understand your question properly?? the answer is that this does not apply to FileMaker Scripts. This is for backup schedules and batch files.

The 'Run Script File' option in FMServer is for scripts that you write (apple script, vbscript, batch files) to do things on the server. A simple example would be copying your backups to another computer on the network. As Old Advance Man said, it is not for scripts in your FileMaker databases.

For the scripts to show up in the Admin panel, you must place the script file in the Scripts foler on your FMServer. It's in the same place your default Database folder is located in the FileMaker Server folder.

There have been some changes in the processes here especially as they pertain to VBS. There will be some additional information on that topic after the Holidays.

You might want to look at the resources posted on the main page of this site.

I've updated the "More Backups" article on my web site (http://www.connectingdata.com/downloads.htm). It contains a lot of info on running VBscripts from the FMS Scheduler.
