Related files with IP addresses

Sometimes, related files appear in script steps with an IP address in parentheses and other times not. I've tried authoring the file with the network protocol turned off in the preferences, but to no avail. I can't even figure out where it is getting the IP address. I am definitely NOT specifiying the related file by pressing the HOST button, although on other machines I have see that doing so results in an asterisk alongside the file name. I have had no luck finding anything about this subject in the FM documentation, and I just wish I knew where it was coming from and how to edit in once it is there.
