BowDown Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 I need a plugin that will run scripts at a set time of day. I will use this for exporting via scripts I already have, importing, and emailing. I'm using FM8.
Matt Klein Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 oAzium Events at www.wmotion.com and I believe Activator from Troi at www.troi.com will accomplish this.
Reed Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 MMScript from CNS has worked well for me, and only costs $35. You could also use windows to schedule a VB Script that runs Scriptmaker scripts at set times... no plugin needed. On a mac you would use Applescript.
BowDown Posted December 21, 2005 Author Posted December 21, 2005 How do I have VB Call filemaker to run a script? Is it like a command line parameter?
Reed Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Filemaker on windows has ActiveX functionality... if you search the filemaker help for ActiveX, there are some examples there.
dmaxj Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 (edited) I have a script that runs nightly at 12:00am. I managed to get the script working. Only problem is that I have to always set the script on the next day to be ready to run at midnite. I am wondering if I should remove the "-AddSingleEvent" switch from the Actr-ScheduleEvent script step. I am hoping to be able to 'set it and forget it.' I am referring to page 11 of the Troi Activaor guidedocs, but the is no explanation for repeating events. Thanks Moving to a new thread... Edited January 31, 2006 by Guest
herrix Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 (edited) Hi, stick with windows and you'll win: I use the free windows scheduler to run a fielmaker file that calls a 'remote script'. It keeps your system clean of plugins and your IT manager will understand what happens. BTW, its free. Hartger Edited February 7, 2006 by Guest
