youseful Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 (edited) ALL NEW TAPI Plugin http://www.fmplugin.net This plug-in is a powerful Filemaker plug-in that will allow you to create robust computertelephony applications quickly and easily. It uses Windows standard TAPI so it will work on a widevariety of hardware devices from inexpensive voice modems to full featured telephony boards.Unfortunately since TAPI is a Windows API, this plug-in will currently only work on the Windows platform Some possible uses for the Youseful TAPI plug-in: - log all incoming calls with caller ID in a Filemaker table and cross reference them to a contact table - create a full featured answering machine - create a voice response IVR system - create an auto-dialer announcement application - allow customers to check their account information over the phone - take automated credit card orders over the phone - record all incoming and outgoing conversations for future reference - filter and drop incoming calls based on caller ID information Some features of the plug-in: - Uses the TAPI standard so works on most voice modems and telephony boards - Play and record wave files - Send and receive DTMF tones (touch tone button sounds) - Get caller ID of incoming calls - Answer and make calls - Silence detection - With free install of Microsoft SAPI Text to Speech engine (included with XP), has full text to speech capability - see http://www.microsoft.com/speech - Full call progress detection on both inbounds and outbound calls - Uses tone recognition technology on outbound calls to overcome bug with Unimodem driver which sends the CONNECTED event too soon on voice modems (this will make sense later). This allows dialing from the computer to work properly and allows for the creation auto dialer applications. - Full featured event model to allow for easy programming - Includes several commented working example applications that are useful already applications - Incoming call pop up that allows user to deal with or ignore an incoming so that a user can be working on Filemaker at the time of an incoming call and not be interrupted in their work Edited December 29, 2005 by Guest
