How do I get a box to show a list of entries/records in a layout? I tried a portal, but it does not show any records. The image is what I need to do. Thanks for all your help.

A portal should accomplish what you want. We really need much more information though to really help you.

Where are the records you want to show in the portal? Are they in the same table? Are they in a different table? What is the relationship between the single record on the layout and the records you want to show in the list?
