Automatically save a clone?

Is there a way to automatically save a clone of a served file? The backup schedule will not save the file as a clone, and when the file is live I cannot save it as a clone or otherwise.

Any ideas? (This is for a client who is using Server 8 for Windows.)

It would have to be a client-side action, FMS can't do this.

Why not put a script in the file and whenever you need a clone, open a backed-up file and run the script? I wouldn't try to automate the clone-saving as a sort of routine.
