Adding a Calendar to an existing solution

Featured Replies

Hi all:

I have two databases:

Contacts.fp5: a database of artists available for work;

bookings.fp5: a database of records for scheduled jobs.

currently the relationship between the two is such that you can go to the record detail within Contacts and view a portal of all the Bookings related to that artist. you can click within the portal to be transported to that particular booking.

what i would like to do is add a calendar such that it appears as a 'portal' within the contact record for a particular artist. when the user goes to the Contact.fp5 layout containing the calendar, he may view the calendar dates for that artist only, with event dates highlighted in month view. ideally, the user can click upon a date and be transported to that particular record in the Bookings.fp5 database. if this can be achieved, it would more easily enable a booker to evaluate the availability of any artist in the database.

i've never before worked with calendars, and am using the calendar solution provided by Scriptology as a template. it utilizes 37 fields for the days of the month. the month and years are flipdown menus.

would it be a monster task for me to get what i want as above?

any help or leads would be much appreciated...

Kindest Regards and Thanks,

John

John,

I have a couple files to email re: our recent correspondence, but I don't have your email address with me. Email me, and I will send them to you.
