VICH Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 can you create folders in a designated drive with scripts? example: i have a layout where people put in the file name of pictures and first they have to go in to the directory and find where it goes make the folder then put in the file path in the filemaker feild i want them to be able to put in the file name(just the file name not the path) and it creates and or puts it in the proper folder it goes in
Wim Decorte Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 There is no FM script to do this. But you can use the OS to do it for you. From the command line you can make a folder with the "mkdir" command. From inside FM you'd use the Send Event script step and feed it: cmd /c mkdir c:parentFoldernewFolder (cmd.exe is the Windows Command Line interpreter, "/c" tells it to quit when done).
Wim Decorte Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Note though that this is not foolproof: there is no error handling. If you want to confirm that the folder is actually created you'd need split out the Standard Output to a text file and import that, or use a VBscript instead of the command line.
