MarkWilson Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Does a runtime database created with FileMaker 8 Advanced have the auto-complete and fast matching options available to users?
Genx Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 (edited) ... filemaker are cheap ... but i doubt they'd get rid of a fairly standard filemaker 8 feature like that... they seem to just get rid of the better features like pdf export or excel export etc. Edited February 14, 2006 by Guest naughty words :D
Lee Smith Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 (edited) genx, Mark's is asking if a feature of v8 is available in a Runtime. I'm not quite sure what you are saying, except you need to watch your language. Mark, I have not bound a runtime yet, so I can't answer with 100% accuracy, however, it would seem logical that it would be available. However, if you don't get a solid yes, or no by tomorrow, I'll do a test for you and see. Lee Edited February 13, 2006 by Guest
Oldfogey Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 genx, are you sure about Excel? I found out about the PDF problem only after many hours of frustration on my, and my (now ex-) customer's, part. The really frustrating thing is that it is not mentioned in the Help. There are two articles on the FMP Knowledge Base - one on PDF and one of Excel. The PDF article specifically says it doesn't work on runtimes but the Excel one doesn't. Don't have time to check it just now. Lee, I think genx is beng unbelievably polite about FMI on this issue.
Genx Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 oh right lee, yes i appologize, i shouldnt have used that term...it is a public forum sorry, wont happen again... genx
MarkWilson Posted February 14, 2006 Author Posted February 14, 2006 Lee. Can I take you up on your offer of a test? The run-time application will run a PC. Thank you.
Lee Smith Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Done. The feature carries over to the Runtime. :
