Just getting to grips with FM8 and then I come accross this wee little bug(gger!)

>Define Database> Fields

I am unable to locate the Copy/Paste buttons!

On the VTC traing CD it explians how you can copy and paste Fields but the buttons are hidden.

The VTC trainging CD used Mac and I use XP as my platform and I have Pro and they use Pro Advanced.

Please could someone shed some light on the issue.

Many thanks in advance,

VD

"The figures in this section show FileMaker Advanced. The buttons that enable you to copy, paste, and import tables are not available in FileMaker Pro."

Unbelievebable!!!!!

That is part of the value you receive for paying the extra money for Advance. So yes, it is believable.

Yes, it's unfortunate that the client application is intensionally hobbled like this. But if you look at it in terms of most client-server solutions, those extra features would never be needed by end users. Only the developer needs them. So I guess I don't mind paying for the Advanced version once to get those features if it means I can pay less for each stripped down client license (although, the client version still seems pretty expensive to me even with volume licensing.) :
