display from Value List

hi everyone,

I inherited a database that has a foreign key field with a pop up value list. the value list is set to "use values from field", "use values from first field (primary key of the related file), "Also display values from second field" (description of item), "Include all values", "Show values only from second field", the pop up list shows only the description of the item, and the field itself only displays the description. I tried to re create this in another database but can only get the key field to display. It almost looks like there are two fields there. but they are somehow connected. Does that make any sense and can someone tell me how I can do this?

Never mind, I figured it out. Apparently, if it is formatted as a drop down it won't work but as a pop up it will.
