Hello, Attached is a screenshot of the Excel spreadsheet that I need to import into FileMaker.

The full spreadsheet is 200 columns, 400 rows. Each row represents one patient.

Each row (patient) needs their own record in Filemaker Pro.

Any Suggestions???

Thanks!

If you import it into FileMaker, each row becomes one record. So if each row in your spreadsheet is a different patient, it's clear you will be creating a Patient table. You can either manually create all the fields in a FileMaker file and import the spreadsheet data, or open the spreadsheet with FileMaker to have FileMaker create the fields for you.

Hi Ender,

Yes, you are right, I would like each row to be a record. However, I have tried numerous times to import, but the file keeps opening in Filemaker as an Excel spreadsheet...

Since I am new, I am struggling with this...Please will you list the steps to make each Excel row it's own Filemaker record?

Thank you in advance!!

Alisun

Make sure the Excel file is named correctly (ending with .xls,) then open FileMaker Pro and try 'File->Open...' and select the Excel file (you may have to select the option to 'Show: All Available' in the open dialog.)
