PatriciaW Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I am trying to implement password security on a file. I have set up 3 accounts and I have made guest inactive, but for some reason I am not being prompted for account name/password when I open the file. Also when I open the file I have full privileges. This wasn't happening before ... I was starting up with guest privileges but I am trying to make it necessary to enter a password. What am I doing wrong? The documentation isn't vey helpful in this area.
Ender Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Hi Patricia, Check File->File Options. Turn off the option to login automatically.
PatriciaW Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 (edited) Strange ... I never checked it ... but when I got your reply I looked at the option and it was filled with a account id and password. I removed that ... but it does not seem to make any difference. It seems to log me on automatically with the last account I used (by using the option key when I open the file.) Do I have to do anything to activate the login dialog. I have tried both closing the file and quitting FM but no difference. Just in case it isn't obvious, I am using FM7. Edited February 20, 2006 by Guest
PatriciaW Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 I saw a reference in another post to the use of the keychain in OS X. That explains my problem. I must have chosen to use the keychain at some time although I don't remember doing that. I just deleted the keychain entry and now I am getting prompted correctly.
tomlepk Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 (edited) I had this problem also. Is there a way to disable storing in the keychain for this application? Edited April 25, 2006 by Guest
