sean o mac Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 OK, maybe there is another way to do this but I wanted to keep it simple so maybe there is a good suggestion out there. I have a portal, within which I may have 1 record, and may have as many as 150 records in it. I want to format a page to print the records in the portal but I cannot seem to find a way to do this so it uses only as many pages as necessary. If I put in 'show 75 records', the portal takes up more than one 8.5x11 page on my page layout, but I assumed that if I clicked the box in the the sliding/printing feature, it would ignore the format. This seems not to be the case. Do I have to print from the other file altogether, formatting a page exactly the same but using the records instead? Please let me know how to solve this relatively simple issue. thanks
Ender Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Hi Sean, Yes, printing multi-page portals is problematic, especially in FM7, which does a poor job of sliding them. You should try printing instead from the related line items table, using a list view. To get the line items table to show only the related records, use a Go To Related Records [ Show only related records ] script step. Formatting of such a list view has limitations, and some elements of your portal print layout may not be possible. But it shouldn't be too hard to rearrange things to get a satisfactory result.
Ender Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I wish I had seen your duplicate post to this before wasting time answering it.
