Have ported FM6 database to FM7 as per documentation . Set users to single prior to conversion .Have placed in Databases folder( default folder in FM7 server )Restarted etc. File doesn't appear in hosts. There is obviously something that I am missing . Wandered around in Administrator .The file doesn't appear there either . Read lots of posts in various forums nothing successful.Can some one direct me to the correct information ?

What does the Server event log say about it?

Make sure the permissions on the file are correct. Set them to owner "fmserver" and group "fmsadmin".

There is a bug that I have learned to live with where local hosts (including my FM Server) do not initially appear in the Open Remote dialogue. I have to switch back and forth between Local Hosts and favorites until the hosts appear. To save time I save any and all hosts as favorites, starting with the Server.

Don't know if this is your issue but it sounded similar
