Genx Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Ummm, rightio here goes. I want users to be able to print labels. Labels come in different sizes. Most come with avery software codes. After a layout has been generated, is there anyway to respecify its physical body size and column size through script maker, or better yet just respecifying an avery software code? Cheers, ~Genx
Inky Phil Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Hi Genx Why not just specify the layout as a label layout and specify the avery code then? Phil
Oldfogey Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 (edited) Are you developing a general distributable solution or one for a fixed base of clients? If the latter, are they independent? Reason I ask is to see if you can get someone else to impose some discipline. Alternatively, you could set up multiple layouts for say half a dozen standard label formats. Almost forgot - the answer to your original question is 'No'. Edited February 26, 2006 by Guest
Genx Posted February 26, 2006 Author Posted February 26, 2006 Lol cheers, yes i think i will have to go with the generating of a couple of standard layouts. I'm sure the clients can just order the label sizes if they cant buy them locally. Thanks for help and suggestions ~Genx
Genx Posted February 26, 2006 Author Posted February 26, 2006 (edited) By the way could you possibly define what you mean by the following: "a general distributable solution or one for a fixed base of clients" Fixed base meaning a certain limited group im designing the solution for and general distributable meaning for general distribution? Then yes it is generally distributable. ~Genx Edited February 26, 2006 by Guest
Oldfogey Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Yes, your interpretation of my question was correct. If you are talking address labels, I reckon you will only need 3 or 4 max. Much as I hate the mongrels, Officeworks have produced a 24-up sheet which FINALLY, AT LONG LAST, allows for the fact that most printers do not print to the edges. (Just when some of them do!) And they're cheap. Love your (new) disclaimer.
Genx Posted March 9, 2006 Author Posted March 9, 2006 Hehe, thanks for the idea and the appreciation of my disclaimer. ~Genx
