Newbies stevoreeno Posted March 1, 2006 Newbies Posted March 1, 2006 I am trying to install the FileMaker Server 7 Advanced 7.0v3 update, but I am running into to some barriers. I am getting messages that there is not enough disk space. This is a windows 2k server with two disk drives and we have FM Server 7 installed on the secondary/ d drive because the main drive that runs w2k had less than 500 mb of drive space when we ran the initial installation. I know that the FM server updates call for approximately 100 MB of free space on the hard disk, but I thought it refferred to the disk where Filemaker resided-- in this case the d drive. It seems that the updater is looking at the c directory which there is now less than 100 mb of space. Is it correct to assume that although we have it installed on the d drive, that some installation files still need to be installed on the main drive? We have been running the software like this for a several months with no problems. Any suggestions?
Wim Decorte Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 No files go on the main drive. But I'll bet the main drive is where all the temp files go and that's what eating up all your disk space. Reconfigure the machine so that all temp files and paging files go on the D drive, otherwise your machine will run very slowly. Or repartition your drives and give the system plenty of space. Add a partition of temp and swap files away from your system partition.
