Hi,

I just discovered that I can display field data by simply using the text tool and typing:

<>

onto the layout and it will display the data for that record, it even works in IWP. What is this function called?

I attached a sample file for anyone interested.

It looks like it could be a great way to securly display data on the internet. thanks!

It's called a merge field. :wink2:

And to use related fields, use:

<>

You can also enter them in layout mode, by going insert --> Merge Field, or just pressing ctrl + M.

really? well duh on me. I just dont see it being used much by developers.

that's a bit of a misleading name, its sooo much more than that.

I programmed for 15 hours straight today, anything new impresses me at this point.
