Does anyone know why Filemaker switch off sharing capabilites and instant web publishing in a runtime?

To put this a little differently, FileMaker recognized that it was missing out on additional Revenue, so with the release of v4, they removed this ability from the Runtime.

I can't blame them, profits mean that a company can survive, and continue to develop their product, and when you get right down to it. I think that outweighs everything else in the end.

If they added network capabilities to runtimes, then the price of the runtime binder and/or FMS would have to be increased to offset revenue lost from selling VLA licenses....
