hi everone,

i know that this is a simple one but how do you change the record number. i have a bunch of records and then added some more to it. i need some of the new ones to fit in with the others... example: existing record number 33 and in need to add a new one and make it 34. i know that this should be easy, but i can't seem to get it.

Hi Peter,

I realize it's tempting but you would be wise to forget about it. It will drive you insane trying to always keep them in order ... and in order of what? This is why sorting was invented. Records appear already sorted - by natural creation date/time. If you want them sorted differently, sort them. You can script it and sort depending upon different needs. And this is how it should be.
