Using portal to display DB

Featured Replies

I have two files - one is a 'service diary', the other is a part-catalog.

I'd like to be able to display the parts in the service diary so I don't have to open the parts catalog to find the part, but I have them all listed in the service diary.

I can't seem to get portal to display more than 1 item (one that is tied to a relationship) and show ALL the records in the parts catalog...

can I do this? am I even making sense....

You've almost answered your own question. Make a new relationship to Parts with "All" as the qualfier.

Um, exactly how to I do that?

So far all I can do is use the portal to pull up one record of a specific part number I type in.

On the relationships set up my 'part no' from the parts DB is tied to a field in the main DB. When I type in the part no. there, the specific part shows up.

Where do I use the "all" ? It can be as simple as typing it in the related field, because that didn't jive...

this one has me boggled.... I'm not very good at this and now I'm really seeing why....

Where do I use the "all" ?
Look at the operator choices you have when you creat a relationship or edit it.

Thank you very much (both you for your help)

All I had to do was change the = to 'not' = .

Makes me say 'doh!'

Thank you for taking the time to help.....

[color:blue]All ([color:red]x) is different than [color:blue]Not Equal ([color:red]≠) in what it will shows in the Portal. In other words, [color:red]x = [color:blue]everything, and [color:red]≠ is everything [color:blue]but.
