I'd like to automate connection to VPN if a server can't be reached via network. My users connect over VPN vs. WAN so local resources can be accessed etc. Anyone have any ideas as to how to automate this via cmd line or run?

I imagine it can be done with VBscript, but it would certainly mean storing credentials in a "hackable" way.

Too much automation is not always a good thing, there is a big trade-off between "easy" and "secure".

In any case if you'd want to do this, it would take some serious time to put it together.
