nylon Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Hi all. When I shared files with FMP8 there was a way to hide support files so only the main database file was visible to users. I can't find this feature in FMS8. Have I missed something, or have I paid lots of money to lose a valuable feature? Cheers, Mark
Kent Searight Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Go under the Edit menu to Sharing > FileMaker Network. You'll see you list of files that are open. Select a file from the list and then check the box that says "Don't display in Open Remote ..."
Kent Searight Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I missed it when you said you were on FM 8 Server. In the Open Remote File dialog on the client machine you can edit your Favorite Hosts by selecting one, clicking edit, and then selecting the radio button Show Only These Files, then typing out the name of the file you want to be seen. Another option to keep your users out of there is to use an opener solution on each client machine. Sorry about the confusion before, hope this helps! :)
