Having used Filemaker for quite some time, I am not just beginning to get into the nuts and bolts of it ... and I now have a portal question.

I have a record that pertains to someone that has donated items to our golf outing. At the bottom I want to add portals so each year we can track what year someone gave something, what they gave and the value of it.

I can enter information for last year and no problem. Then when I get the next line and enter in information for this year it creates a whole new record.

What am I doing wrong?

Each line in a Portal is a Separate Record.

when you create a new line, you are creating a new record.

I am not clear on what exactly you want it to do.
