scottvaughan Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 I have a relationship that shows records via a portal. Basically shows what machine a job ran on and when. So my relationship say when the equipment and date match, show the records. Iwant another relationship that will sho when a job shipped, so the ship date and status(shipped) must match to show the records through the portal. When I do either of these alone, they work fine. I am having trouble creating the two separate relationships and assocaiting them with different portals. Help is wanted.
John Mark Osborne Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 It sounds like you might be using 4 table occurrences when you only want three. Your starting point for the relationship graph is the layout where the portals will reside. From your brief description, this sounds like the Equipment table. You want the ending point or the portals to be based on table occurrences both relating (independently) to the Equipment table occurrence. This will enable both your portals to display the correct information on the same layout. In other words, the starting point (layout) has to be the same for both related tables so FileMaker can drive through the relationship graph correctly.
