RickBman Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 (edited) ok, I am using filemaker 6, and one of the passwords I have created gives access only to browse the database. I need to give the password access to edit 1 field and 1 field only. I have no idea how to go about creating a calculation to make this work. I was thinking something along the lines of: Status ( CurrentFieldName ) = "Name of field they are allowed to edit" but I am not sure if that would work or not. I wanted to make sure that I had something that would work before I put it into the database. Thanks, Rick Edited May 1, 2006 by Guest
MarkWilson Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Rick, Access control at the field level can be setup with Groups. Setup the passwords first and then add group privileges. Field_Control.zip
Newbies mpg Posted May 17, 2006 Newbies Posted May 17, 2006 Is there a way to restrict a user / or group from Hitting a Button and running a script? I want to restrict it so the users do not run a script.
