mdroyal Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I have a 7 client LAN running FM5.5 and the clients are FM6. All the machines are OSX Tiger 10.4.4 or higher and 1 is an intel iMac running 10.4.6 The Intel iMac has been getting disconnected from the server for no apparent reason and I'm wondering if there is a compatability problem. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Mike
mdroyal Posted May 3, 2006 Author Posted May 3, 2006 It seems to be happening 2 or 3 times a day. Sometimes in the same 15 minute time span.
Genx Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Hard wired or wireless? Either way, it might be the network card. ~Genx
IdealData Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Is the iMac using enrgy saver preferences? If it's set to go to sleep then all network connections will be lost. I have FM5/5.5 and 6 clients with 5.5 server and ALL operating systems (98, XP, OS9 - 10.4.6) - no problems.
Newbies ROSY Posted June 6, 2006 Newbies Posted June 6, 2006 help! Ive got FMP 5 and a new intel macbook running tiger. it wont even open , all of my databases are in FMP Is there anything i can do?
Ender Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Since the Intel macs can't run Classic, FM5 and below won't work. You'll need to upgrade to a newer version of FileMaker.
