The Big Bear Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 (edited) Hi all I have developed two program that I am getting ready to put on the market. While discussing this with a Acess programing friend of mine, he ask me a question that got me to thinking about how FM makes an runtime. As far as I can figure it off that FM developer does not bind the file to the runtime but creates an EXE file that take the place of FM. So anyone who has FM can open and modify my runtime solution once it has been download from my website. Is this correct? Thanks Lionel Edited May 10, 2006 by Guest
Fenton Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Yes, I don't think that you can tie the file to the runtime in such a way that it cannot be opened with regular Filemaker (at least I don't know how). But you can "Permanently prevent modification of database structure," when you create the runtime. Don't do that to your master files however.
