Runtime, nothing happens

I have one user where, after installing the runtime, nothing happens. Double clicking on the shortcut or the main file does nothing. Have tried removing and reinstalling with the same behavior.

I'm fairly certain this is some system problem (she's trying to install on Windows XP laptop) because she can install on her other computer fine. Any ideas on what might cause this?

Has she got win xp sp2 installed?

EDIT: Umm... thats fm 8 sorry. Check the minimum req's on FM website and see if her laptop meets them.

Sorry, it is 8.

She has XP SP2.

No clue then, except... double check there are no filemaker processes running, perhaps an FM runtime process (ctrl+alt+delete) --> task manager.
