table view with dynamic headings?

Featured Replies

We currently have a database that stores hundeds and hundreds of constantly changing tasks as individual records with a start and end date. Our problem is that we require a more visual gantt style interface for data entry than filemaker can provide.

We need a view that has name and task in the first two columns with each subsequent column representing a dynamically generated daily date. A task range would be represented by a range of 1's. Users would be able to adjust entries by adding or removing these 1's and be able to view surrounding records in a more visual way. In essence, we want filemaker to have some of the capabilities that Project has. (We do not want to use Project for various reasons, but we do want the solution to integrate fully with filemaker.)

Any ideas welcomed, be they to do with database schema, XML export methods, or alternatives to MS Project?

I doubt there is a solution to this problem but there maybe an alternative that I have not thought of.

Thank you for your time.
