Newbies Satish Posted May 22, 2006 Newbies Posted May 22, 2006 Hi, I migrated from FM6 to FM8 on Windows 2000 platform, The databases were succesfully converted into fm8 version. The issue is I am unable to open the same using the same login credintials that of FM6. Can anyone help as to how should I go about accessing the converted databases in FM8. Thanks & Regards, Satish
gdurniak Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Enter your password (twice) as both user name & password in the FM8 converted files
IdealData Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 IN FM6 there were no "user names" only passwords, so during the conversion process FM* creates user names that match each of the passwords, therefore the user name and password are the same for each original password. Please also check out the following http://www.filemaker.com/support/product/documentation.html and download the document "Converting FileMaker databases from previous versions"
Ender Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 You can also type just the password in the password field, leaving the account name blank. Once you're in, change the account names ASAP.
