I just setup a my new macbook and transferred my data & apps from my older powerbook G4. When I try to start FM8 advanced it crashes. I also downloaded a trial version of fm8 to see if that would work, but it quit also. any ideas what might be causing this?

Try trashing the prefs files (Users//Library/Preferences/FileMaker Preferences/) If that doesn't do it, reinstall from CD.
