I am pretty new to FileMaker but learning fast. I have a database with 1 field which has a number of Records, at present around 150. In another database there is another field that when clicked brings up the 150 records in a scrolling list. This is fine. What I want to do is in this field is add knew names etc, which will then create a new record in the first database. Is this simple to do?

Use a portal into the other file, rather than the value list that you are currently using. Look in the FMP manual on how to setup the portal.
