Calculate field length in real time

I have a text field with a 60 character limit. Is it possible to create a calc field that will show how many characters are remaining as a user is typing into the text field?

Nope, as you may have noticed FileMaker won't even stop the user at 60 characters. You might be able to find a plugin that will help.

yeah i did notice that. that is what sparked me thinking about this. you can set the maximum limit, but still type as many characters as you want until you exit the field. lame.

I remember at least one other file, I think it was by CobaltSky, but I could be wrong. Maybe just search the Forum for your keywords and see what turns up.
