Newbies LinaML Posted June 2, 2006 Newbies Share Posted June 2, 2006 (edited) Hello, I'm using maximized window in my solution. I would like to open another window - "pop up" window (300 x 300 px) in front of my "main window", but "main window" to stay maximized. Is this possible? Thanks, Lina Edited June 2, 2006 by Guest
K1200
In Filemaker (for XP) either all your windows must be maximized or none of them. Bringing up a non-maximized window will always cause the parent window to become non-maximized.
mz123
I recommend you get a Mac : Filemaker is able to do this on the Mac platform, but of course this is just one of MANY reasons to get a Mac... hehe :
MarkWilson
To get around the ever changing window size, I make the regular windows as large as possible (not maximized) within the maximized program. When I call a new window the background screen does not change size as it is not maximized.
T-Square
Of course, if you're not ready to buy a Mac, you *could* always use a script to set your main window size to the size of the desktop. Check out Move/Resize Window and Get(WindowHeight), Get(WindowDesktopHeight), etc. commands in the FM Help. For example: Move/Resize Window [Current Window; Height: Get(WindowDesktopHeight); Width: Get(WindowDesktopWidth); Top: 0; Left: 0] David
