FMP and an AS400

I have a customer who wants to be able to use Filemaker to pull data out of an AS400.

From what I have seen on these forums and elsewhere, it can be done with ODBC. My problem is I don't know what info I need to know about the AS400 to make this work. Plus, once I found that info, how do I make the connection?

Is it standard SQL, or something different?

Any pointers to info, or advice would be appreciated.

AS400 is just a platform. You need to talk to whoever designed the software you're running on the AS400. Technically there is no reason why you couldn't interact with their data, but the manufacturer of the software may not want you to touch their tables...

So talk to them first and take it from there.
