Entering values from one table to another problem

I'm trying to create a receit database, where few values from my table would be coppied to a new table and I could print it out as a receit of values. I've spent hours trying to create relationships between tables and I can't get the 2nd table to display the values from the 1st table. 1st table has about 10 fields, of which 5 are numbers and one calculation field, I'd like to be able to view those same number fields in either a different table or a dif.database altogheter, so I could just print those out without having to print out the whole 1st table... Seems like a very basic operation, though I'm very new to filemaker pro8, I can't seem to get it done. : I've created relationships and even tried to enable "lookup" values and still wouldn't copy... Obviously I might use a lesson or two and consider fm course sometime (since following the manual didn't help me) . I would appreciate if anyone has any suggestions. :P

Try posting your file on the forum. If you're having difficulty understanding how related files work then any written answers here are unlikely to help you (as you already say the manual didn't help), but that's not to imply that answers here are wrong.

I think you need a worked example using your own file, but first have a look at some of the sample files that came with FMP. they're in the FMP folder/Extras/Templates folder.
