I am a total newbie to Filemaker, but I managed to design a rudimentary database for my firm. My problem is this: I enter a record. Fine. Then it needs to be changed, and it overwrites the original. How can I save both?

Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Hi Auld

In answer to your question what you need to do is first copy the original record and then amend the copy.

You don't say why you might want to save both the new AND the old record.The above method possibly means that you will end up with a lot of repeated data that you don't really need so I suggest that you give some thought to your structure
