jcc31 Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 I have a FM5.5 File that open up in FM6. I have portal and in this portal there are about 32 records. Is there a way where I can page break the portal when printing after 16 records? If so how?
SteveB Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 v5, v5.5 and v6 all use the same file format. You shouldn't be printing portals directly, as they weren't designed to do this. Instead, create a layout that is meant to be printed. Steve
John Mark Osborne Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 In this situation, you will want to print from the file where the related records are stored. In other words, print from the child file rather than the parent table. You can do this by using the Go to Related Record script step from the parent record. This will locate all the related records and place them in a found set as long as you specify the "show only related records" option. If you need data from the parent file, you can create a relationship from the child file to the parent file (reverse relationship as I like to call it). This will allow you to place fields from the parent in the child file. You'll likely want to place these related fields in a header or footer part and the local fields in a body part.
