exporting record into specific worksheet in specific excel file

Whats the best way to move a record into a specific worksheet in a specific excel file?

Currently, I'm exporting to a new .xls, copying the row, and then pasting it to the desired excel file and worksheet.

Is there a better way? I'm beginning a project and this would be a huge help.

The only way I see this possible is through VBscript. Through VBscript you can manipulate all of Excel so you can easily tell it to switch to a particular worksheet and create a new row at the bottom of the list with your data. Or insert it anywhere.

Since there is FM data involved you need to create the VBscript syntax in a FM field, export the field contents to a physical VBscript file, use Send Event to execute it, have FM wait for it to be done then use another Send Event to delete the VBscript again. Or you can have a VBscript live outside of FM and call it passing the data as parameters (saves you having to clean up, but it's a little harder on the deployment). Or you can use the VBscript plugin at www.grokittools.com.
